and we will add you on.
Phil has already kicked off 2011 with successful gigs at venues such as the Village Pump, Trowbridge, Red Lion, Birmingham, and has a wide selection of shows lined up for this year. Look for his Acoustic Special gigs at Wigan Parish Church and the Holywell Music Room. Phil hopes to do more totally acoustic shows in suitable venues over the next year or so. We will keep you informed.
His 'Week in the Westcountry' in March, will take in Devoran, South Petherton, Kenn and Blandford as well as The Dolphin Hotel at Beer, site of the immensely successful broadcast for Show of Hands on the Radio 2 Radcliffe and Maconie Show in September of last year.
As well as his own successful gigs, and extensive working with Show of Hands, Phil has found time to work on his record label, which has recently released Isambardes' 'Telling Tales' as well as a great new version of Tom Palmers' Living with the Flaws’, featuring extra bonus tracks. Tom will be joining Phil on several dates as will the excellent Phillip Henry and Hannah Martin. Keep checking the website for details. Regular Show of Hands bassist Miranda Sykes also joins Phil on a good number of dates.
In addition to the solo shows and Show of Hands commitments, Phil continues to work hard in the studio. There will be no other production jobs for other artistes this year as he completes ‘Box set no 2’ and a completely new double album. This album will be largely west country traditional material, the first disc being completely acoustic and the second a full band recording. The working title is ‘Boys called William/Girls called Nancy’. Phil expects to have both these albums ready by the end of the year. He has also remastered the original ‘Fiddle Collection’ album and will re-release it by the summer.
Phil would like to belatedly thank everyone who expressed concern over his health problems last year and is happy to report that he is completely well again. He regrets that certain regular activities have had to be missed out in this years schedule, not least of which is the annual ‘Feast of Fiddles’ tour. He can’t be everywhere and do everything!!
Please support them in the march tour.
See you on the green!!
