Those of you who have tried to book seats for Phil Beer at the Queens Theatre Barnstaple, previously sold out, will be pleased to see the press release below from the venue:
Extra Seats Added for Phil Beer’s Solo Gig
Such has been the demand for tickets for Phil Beer - playing at the Queen’s Theatre on Wednesday 5 October, that it has been decided to move his concert into the larger Studio space. Extra tickets are now available.
One half of Britain’s most successful acoustic duo Show of Hands and former Albion Band member, Phil Beer, will now be performing in the Studio space at the Queen’s Theatre having sold out the Gallery Space in double-quick time. And in an additional development, Miranda Sykes will now be performing in support of Beer’s solo show.
Miranda Sykes has been performing with Show of Hands since 2004. Alongside her work with the band, she is equally as known for her solo work and musical collaborations with the likes of Rex Preston, Pressgang and Robb Johnson. Miranda’s rich, spine tingling vocals and strident yet sensitive double bass playing promise to provide the perfect opening for this quality night of acoustic roots music.
Ken Bradburn from Emerging Music, the Promoter for the show, said:
“Phil has been amazed and delighted by the demand for tickets and we’re all excited about moving into the larger, yet still intimate Studio space at Queen’s. Phil has always loved performing solo gigs and who knows, perhaps Miranda might join him for some numbers. ”
